Roger Ebert

No, "Constantine" is not part of a trilogy including "Troy" and "Alexander." It's not about the emperor at all, but about a man who can see the world behind the world, and is waging war against the scavengers of the damned.

Eye for Film

Constantine the movie reflects Constantine the man - so cool, he's hot.

Time Out

Lovingly hewn from his usual stack of four-by-twos, Keanu Reeves’ plank-like reincarnation of grumpy, chain-smoking exorcist-about-town John Constantine may not bear much resemblance to the original blond, British, working-class demon dick in DC Comics’ Hellblazer series, but it does give more than a passing nod to a certain ‘Neo’.

IMDb

Constantine achieves what all great movies always do: it takes you into another world that makes you forget everything about your own world the whole time you are watching it.

IMDb

Excellent special effects and a creative script combine to underpin a dark and dystopian view of the battle between good and evil.

Eye for Film

"Constantine is best enjoyed by ignoring the Milton-centric mythology and surrendering to the movie's lush atmosphere and wicked performances."

Letterboxd

Not a horror film by any stretch, but a terrific supernatural thriller with some excellent set pieces and memorable ideas of what Hell would be like.
