Although I still am not a convert to the Brady universe, I did find myself enjoying “A Very Brady Sequel” more than “The Brady Bunch Movie”.

They’re silly, deranged, yet deeply, weirdly satisfying and self-aware – the best part of all.

Not since Weekend at Bernie's II has there been such a ham-handed, unfunny, downright unpleasant foray into Quick Buck Filmmaking as this one.

Mutant Reviewers

Sometimes the universe smiles at you and gives you a wonderful sequel to a wonderful film, even though both should have never gotten made in the first place. So it is with A Very Brady Sequel, which is an unlikely — but welcome — follow-up to the culture-clashing Brady Bunch Movie of a year before.

Christian Spotlight on the Movies - ChristianAnswers.Net

‘A Very Brady Sequel’ has very little bad language, no nudity, and no real violence. Unfortunately, the writers of this movie seemed to feel that they needed to add large doses of sexual innuendo to make the Bradys popular in the 90's. For this reason, I do not highly recommend the film.

Rotten Tomatoes

Still steeped in '70s kitsch, this surprisingly successful comedy continues to mine the cliched characteristics of each and every one of the Bradys -- traits that even non-Brady fans have come to know through the years.

IMDb

A Very Brady Sequel is a very good movie. All the actors did well here, especially Shelly Long, Gary Cole, Jennifer Elise Cox and Tim Mathieson. The funny situations, quotes, tone and style of this movie help hide the fact that not all that much really happens and the premise of this film is absurd.

The funniest part of this movie for me is a subplot in which after Roy's arrival, Greg and Marcia learn they may not be brother and sister and start lusting after each other... The rest of the cast has settled comfortably into their roles for this sequel.
